DSLD Guide to Building a House
Building a house can be a stress-free, step-by-step process when you work with DSLD Homes! The largest home builder in the region, DSLD Homes has had plenty of experience delivering quality homes. As a result, we have developed this proven process to provide you with the best customer experience possible.
Our 12 Step Process

Select Your Home and Homesite
Visit the new home community, and see the layout and amenities. A Builder’s Sales Representative will guide you through the process of selecting your home site and floor plan.

Obtain Mortgage Pre-approval
DSLD Homes can help with this, too! DSLD Mortgage can provide you with a mortgage pre-approval. You can even apply online!

Write a Purchase Agreement
Next, your Builder Sales Representative will work with you to create the purchase agreement. This document confirms your build site and floor plan.

Personalize Home with Color/Option Selections
While DSLD Homes will build your house, you make it a home! Personalize your home by selecting colors, flooring, cabinets, and many other design elements.

Ground Breaking on Your New Homesite
It begins! At this stage, DSLD Homes obtains permits and scrapes the lot. You will receive notifications from DSLD Homes at key milestones, so you can track the progress.

Framing Starts
This step takes approximately 7 days. At this point, we also confirm the closing date for your new home!

Weekly Progress Reports Begin
We’ll keep you updated on our progress. Plus, your Builder Sales Representative will send you photos and videos, so you can see your new home take shape.

Construction Progresses
We’ll continue to update you on the progress. You’ll receive more photos and texts through the sheetrock, flooring, top out, and interior trim stages.

Final Mortgage Confirmation & Prepare for Closing
With your mortgage loan approved, your Builder Sales Representative will officially congratulate you on your new home. A DSLD closing coordinator will now contact you to help you prepare the final necessary documents.

DSLD Quality Inspection
This is not your ordinary home inspection! DSLD completes a 700-point inspection on your new home to ensure that all systems are working properly and that the home is constructed to our specifications and quality standards.

First Walk-Thru & Sign-Off Walk-Thru
View your finished dream home for the first time! DSLD provides owners with a thorough 2-hour homeowner orientation during this first walk-through. We familiarize you with all aspects of your home, including smart technology and energy efficient features. We also answer any questions, and make sure you know how to reach the DSLD Customer Care team 24/7.

Close, Move-In, & Enjoy Your New DSLD Home
Your dream home has become a reality! We also want to make sure your new home meets or exceeds your expectations. Thus, we proactively reach out to you to schedule follow-up inspections. In addition to the inspections, you can always contact DSLD Customer Care at any time.
